The Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) is implementing a number of projects in order to protect the labor, social, economic rights and legitimate interests of union members, the effective organization of their treatment and recreation. One such project is Run towards Health!, organized by the Republican Committee of the Health Workers Union of the AHIK Member Organization. As part of a successfully implemented project, running races were held in Baku on June 1.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the competition, Deputy Chairman of the Confederation Gazanfar Abdullayev, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Health Ramik Guliyev and Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Health Workers Elnara Muradova spoke about the achievements of our country in the field of sports and the success of our athletes at international competitions. It was emphasized that the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation provides direct support to the sports and youth policy of our state, the athletes of the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association adequately represent our country at prestigious sport events. The importance of the Run towards Health project was also noted, the participants were wished success.
Then, patriotic songs and national dances performed by dance groups were warmly received by the audience and participants and gave them a good mood.
Healthcare workers from Baku and Sumgayit cities, as well as students of the Azerbaijan State Medical University and medical college, participated in the competition, which started in front of the State Flag Square. In the end, 6 winning participants were awarded. The winners earned the right to participate in the final competition to be organized in the city of Khankendi.
The Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation gave gifts to children participating in the competition as spectators on the occasion of the International Children's Day. Students of the Confederation's Academy of Labor and Social Relations and volunteers of the AHIK also supported the organization of the event.
The event continued with an artistic part.
It should be highlighted that the "Run towards Health!" competition dedicated to June 17 - the Professional Day of Medical Workers The project aims to effectively organize the leisure time of medical workers, promote physical health, and strengthen solidarity among trade union members.
