The Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan (ATIAHIRK), a member of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation awarded a "Personal Scholarship" to 308 students who took an active part in training and the student trade union movement.
The Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted the event “The Personal Scholarship” dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our Motherland.
Speaking at the event, Sahib Mammadov, the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation spoke about the successful youth policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and emphasized the work done to help young people grow in a spirit of patriotism, realize their potential, and form them as highly qualified personnel. Speaking about the services of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the development of Azerbaijani youth, the Chairman of the Confederation drew attention to the important projects implemented in science, education, culture, healthcare, sports and other fields at the initiative of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. It was noted that Azerbaijani trade unions also actively support the state's youth policy, implementing various measures and projects aimed at strengthening their social protection, protecting labor rights and developing their potential. One of such projects, the "Personal Scholarship", makes a significant contribution to increasing the interest of young students in science and education, as well as their personal and professional development.
Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Science and Education underlined the ongoing reforms in the field of education, attention and care paid to education in our country, created favorable conditions for training young people at a high level, and stressed the importance of the "Personal Scholarship" project.
Anar Isgandarov, the Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), and Elmar Gasimov, Rector of the Baku Higher Oil School highlighted the work done to increase the interest of Azerbaijani youth in science, the scientific achievements of our youth, and emphasized the successes of the students of the Baku Higher Oil School, and the fact that future professionals in various fields are being trained in higher education institutions of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the scholarship is awarded to students who study with excellent and good grades in various secondary specialized, vocational and higher education institutions of the country, and who actively participate in the student trade union movement.
The "Personal Scholarship" Project of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of Azerbaijan (ATIAHIRK) has been implemented since 1995. In previous years, 65 students of each semester, 100 based on the results of the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year and 308 at the end of the second semester were awarded with the "Personal Scholarship." To date, 3179 students totally have been succeeded this scholarship.
