
The next meeting of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Issues, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection ofPopulation, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK), has been held.
The meeting was attended by Rashad Mustafayev, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population; Ilyas Aliyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK); Vugar Zeynalov, Vice-President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan; as well as members of the Commission representing all three institutions.
Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, Vugar Zeynalov highlighted the issues on the agenda and presented the candidates proposed for the reformation of the Commission’s composition.
By a vote of the meeting participants, Rashad Mustafayev, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population; Nurana Ibadova and Jamaladdin Guliyev, Advisors to the Chairman of AHIK; and Tural Suleymanov, Head of the Department for the Protection of Labor and Socio-Economic Rights at AHIK, were elected as members of the Commission.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the establishment of a Working Group for the preparation of the draft Law on Employers' and Entrepreneurs' Associations; the formation of a permanent Working Group to explore the possibilities of ratifying the conventions and protocols of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and to ensure their implementation and enforcement; the expansion of the scope of the ‘Social Partner’ project under the State Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population — which provides pensions, allowances, scholarships, targeted social assistance, and compensation — with the aim of increasing the number of partner companies and enhancing citizen satisfaction; and the creation of a Working Group to investigate the possibilities of ratifying ILO Convention No. 184.
