The Baku State University (BSU) and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) jointly opened the "Student Space" on the territory of BSU.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, BSU Rector Elchin Babaev outlined that the newly opened "Student Space" is one of the best examples of the work done at the University within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty." In the Constitution of Azerbaijan, every person, in addition to the right to education, has the right to rest, the right to social services. The "Student Space" will be useful for the public life of BSU students, will create opportunities for their network integration.
It was emphasized that not only students of Baku State University, but also students of other higher education institutions will be able to implement their projects here: "When planning this space, the challenges of the modern era were taken into account, especially the policy of our state regarding green technologies and solving environmental problems. All lighting in the area is provided by solar panels. One of the important aspects of the project is a mini-library that will operate 24 hours a day. Any student can read the books there at any time, benefit from them, and then return them. They can even add their own books to the library.
The Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, underlined that the foundation of youth policy in Azerbaijan was laid by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and spoke about the great role of BSU in the scientific and educational space of Azerbaijan where the Great Leader graduated. The Chairman of the Confederation drew attention to the fact that the “Student Space” will serve the social development of university students.
The Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Youth and Sports, Shahin Ismayilov, Advisor to the Minister of Science and Education, Nijat Mammadli, and the Chairman of the BSU Student Trade Union Committee, Zohrab Javadzade, stated in their speeches that the “Student Space” will increase the leadership skills of students and give impetus to the development of the University.
