A running competition was held in Shamakhi district as part of the “Run Towards Health!” project, organized by the Republican Committee of the Healthcare Workers Trade Union, a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
At the beginning of the event, participants visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Shamakhi, laid flowers in tribute, and honored his memory with deep respect. The event also featured the playing of the National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of the martyrs.
Healthcare workers from the districts of Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Agsu, Gobustan, Gabala, Sheki, Balakan, Zagatala, Oguz, and Gakh, as well as students from the Sheki Medical College, took part in the 5,000-meter run.
At the conclusion of the race, six winners were awarded prizes and earned the right to participate in the final competition to be held in the city of Khankendi.
The event continued with a cultural program.
It should be noted that the competitions, dedicated to June 17 – Medical Workers’ Professional Holiday, aim to promote the effective organization of healthcare workers’ leisure time, encourage physical well-being, and strengthen solidarity among trade union members.
