The Republican Committee of Free Trade Unions of Education Workers, a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) together with the Ministry of Science and Education hosted the final concert of the contest-festival of artistic creativity of students of higher educational institutions, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event, held in the Heydar Aliyev Palace, was attended by statesmen, heads of higher educational institutions, Members of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), well-known famous figures of culture and art. The concert program included songs and poems dedicated to the Great Leader performed by students, as well as dance compositions.
It should be noted that the first stage of the competition-festival was held in 26 higher education institutions of the country in April-May of this year. In total, about 1,600 students participated in this stage. 391 students qualified for the final stage. The finalists' performances were evaluated by an influential jury consisting of People's Artist Mubariz Tagiyev, People's Artist Samir Jafarov, Honored Art Worker, writer-poet Baba Veziroglu, People's Artist Gulyanag Mammadova, People's Artist, ballet master Tarana Muradova, and tar (the national folk musical instrument) player Arslan Novrasli, Honored Art Worker Hafiz Guliyev.
The goal of the festival is to increase interest in artistic creativity among young people, support their cultural potential, ensure effective organization of their leisure time, and promote the rich heritage of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of culture and art.
The winners of the competition were awarded by the Republican Committee of the Azerbaijan Free Trade Union of Education Workers.
